ANIS

Abusa’s paintings are done freely and pro-positively, Abusa’s concept was born in 2007 through the emergence of new opportunities around graffiti. The concept “Abuse” references the abuse of formats, materials, colors and walls. The work is a response to enjoying life, moments, or everyday situations, from a vision of solidarity and inclusiveness. The line of action of their work moves dynamically among children, young people, women and families in a transversal way. The Abusas Crew enjoys the interaction of shapes and colors with the human being. They aim to show their inner feminine, complex and experimental world. “We believe that collective and community work, strengthens all human beings and urban art is a tool helps us to understand a little more.” Their works are present in diverse public spaces of different neighboring countries, such as Brazil, Ecuador, Paraguay, Argentina, and Bolivia. The Abusas Crew is one of the most important female references in Latin America.

[ANIS]

I am part of the
Abusa Crew, which
is an all female group
of street artists. Our work
focuses on  faces of women;
The woman has become our battle
flag. Much of our work is inspired by
the liberation and valorization of women
in society. I aim to create a community
with these women. Maybe because in different
ways we feel something similar.
